How do I know my youth is all spent? Well my get-up-and-go has got up and went!
I am not THAT old but this rhyme has been popping up in my head lately. Breaking my foot and experiencing menopause has left me both weak and fatigued. My movement has been severely restricted and fatigue I discovered, and more when I ‘Googled’, is a symptom of menopause.
Right! How do I address this? Well the obvious solution is exercise, isn’t it. I may be restricted but I can do some things. There are exercises I can do laying down! The fatigue though…no desire to move is the issue.
There’s a few ways to deal with this and the first thought is diet. Have I been drinking enough water? Well I had been drinking a lot but only because it was so hot here. Now I am drinking very little so I’ll start drinking water more often. I’ll even add a drop or two of one of my citrus oils into it as that hydrates more than plain water.
Magnesium….hmmm… Australian ‘soil’ has very little to offer so all Aussies are low in magnesium. I am taking the Lifelong Vitality pack by doTERRA which has magnesium in it so I should be right there.
Pottasium…a banana a day in my smoothies lately so I’m sure I’m good there.
Ginseng. Ooooh doTERRA’s Mito2Max has that in it. I’m sure I have a bottle of those little babies around. Why didn’t I think of that before? Bring it on.
There are oils I can use for energy too. Peppermint being the main one I use. It promotes healthy respiratory function and what is energy if it isn’t with oxygen. Elevation, the joyful blend, certainly lifts me up. My citrus in my water is energising.
Something I hadn’t tried though is Rosemary or Thyme. They are listed as oils for fatigue. Lemon, Cinnamon and Bergamot are mentioned also. I have made a blend to rub a drop into the soles of my feet. That way they will enter my blood stream straight away and have a systemic effect. I really don’t know where I would be without my oils sometimes!!
